Active Enrollment for Graduate Research Assistants

We actively review potential research assistants on a rolling basis according to fund availability and Principal Investigator discretion. It is our sincere hope that the experience enriches educational efforts and provides valuable research skills that may be applied during personal research endeavors. ​

Experience

Graduate Research Assistants may expect to complete the following tasks:
  • Recruit potential participants and screen for eligibility
  • Data collection including instruments or tools and biospecimen materials (urine drug screens, saliva cortisol samples, etc.)
  • Disburse participant gift cards appropriately (screening, data collection, travel, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participant encounters
  • Develop forms and letters
  • Review and appraise literature, including writing literature reviews
  • Assist with new grant applications and manuscript development

​Prospective graduate research assistants interested in participating in our studies or programs should send a CV/ resume to the Project Administrator, Austin Butler.  Be sure to include experience related to substance use, mental health, and data collection.  No experience is necessary for selection.

RESTORE Alabama

Infrastructure and programmatic activities of RESTORE Alabama are supported by $500, 000 grant funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission and in collaboration with The Will Bright Foundation (Grant Number: IS-20237). 

Minds and Mentors Program

​All research and associated activities of the Minds and Mentors Program are supported by $2.7 Million grant funding from the National Institutes of Health – National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (Grant Numbers: 1R61AT010802-01 and 4R33AT010802-02).

MiMP-TP

All  programmatic and associated activities of the MiMP-TP are supported by $2.1 Million grant funding from the  Health Resources and Services Administration (Grant Number: 1 T26HP39458-01-00).

MiMP-TP II

All  programmatic and associated activities of the MiMP-TP II are supported by $2.1 Million grant funding from the  Health Resources and Services Administration (Grant Number: M01HP42451-01-00).
